Propelled by an electric-first vision, Volvo is navigating into the future, fortifying its lineup for the second half of the decade. Between refreshing popular name plates and introducing cutting-edge newcomers, Volvo is redefining safety, sustainability, and style – and discerning drivers from Greenwich to New Canaan can experience it for themselves here at Riley Volvo Cars Stamford. Here's a quick look at a few highlights.
Electrification at the Forefront: Volvo EX and ES
Volvo EX90
First debuted in May 2024, Volvo's flagship all-electric SUV continues to anchor the automaker's EV ambitions. This refined and versatile seven-seater is built on the SPA2 electric platform, generating a prodigious 510 horsepower and using a 101 kWh battery to deliver an expected 300 miles of range. The Volvo EX90 features 250 kW DC fast charging, a 14.5-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, and an extensive roster of safety enhancements—including built-in LiDAR, five radars, 16 ultrasonic sensors, and 10 cameras. Notably, the EX90 will add Volvo's innovative multi-adaptive safety belt, which is set to debut in the upcoming EX60. The new safety belt is designed to better protect passengers by using advanced sensors to adapt to traffic variations and the seat's occupant.
Volvo EX60
Slated to launch in 2026 as a 2026 model, the Volvo EX60 slots between the EX40 and EX90 as Volvo's compact electric SUV on the upcoming SPA‑3 platform. Expected to rival the Tesla Model Y, it will support 800‑volt fast charging and has the potential to achieve an estimated 400‑mile range. The EX60 will likely support features like over-the-air updates, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) sensors, and the multi-adaptive safety belt.
Volvo EX30 and EX40
The transition from the Volvo XC40 Recharge to the new Volvo EX40 exemplifies the automaker's electric vehicle branding evolution. The EX40 is more refined, identity-focused, and built on an electric-only platform. It also offers an optional performance pack, boosting output to more than 435 horsepower. The even smaller EX30 recently joined the ranks as the automaker's subcompact EV. Capable of sprinting to 60 mph in an astonishing 3.5 seconds, the EX30 has earned a spot on Car and Driver's 2025 Editors' Choice list. An all-new EX30 Cross Country is expected for the 2026 model year, targeting outdoor enthusiasts with rugged touches like elevated ground clearance, protective skid plates, all-terrain tires, and unique styling inspired by Swedish geography.
Volvo ES90
The new Volvo ES90 will be sold alongside its hybrid S90 counterpart before eventually replacing it as the automaker's flagship sedan. Built on the same platform as the EX90 SUV, the ES90 will offer up to 442 horsepower and an estimated 370 miles of range, as well as high-tech equipment like Nvidia Orin, Dolby Atmos, and LiDAR-enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
Continued Excellence in Hybrid and Internal Combustion Technology
Volvo XC60
Volvo's best-selling XC60 offers both mild-hybrid and T8 plug-in hybrid variants options, the latter of which boasts 455 horsepower and a 0–60 time under 4.5 seconds. Available feature highlights include adaptive air suspension, ventilated Nappa leather upholstery, and a panoramic roof.
Volvo XC90
Volvo's flagship three-row SUV receives a "2025.5" mid-cycle refresh, including redesigned fascia, an 11.2-inch touchscreen, premium sustainable materials, and enhanced sound insulation. It's also available in two B-series mild-hybrid versions and T8 PHEV with an estimated 32 miles of electric-only range. A sleeker exterior design and improvements to suspension and infotainment make the second-generation XC90 feel fresh and modern.
Volvo V60 and V90 Cross Country
Volvo's beloved wagon heritage lives on in the rugged yet refined models like the V60 Cross Country (mild-hybrid or PHEV) and even more capacious V90 Cross Country. Both vehicles are equipped for adventure with raised suspension, standard AWD, premium cabins, and more.
