The long and harsh winters in Sweden could, from a foreign perspective seem like just that. Sweden, on the other hand, has a word to describe the complex feeling that winter, or "the great melancholy," brings. The word is Vemod, which means a complex feeling of saccharine melancholy and intense longing one feels during the winter months. This is what inspires Volvo. Volvo makes vehicles that can withstand the harshest conditions, and resemble the steadfast people who endure it. Check out the video!

This can only be called a short film, it is so breathtaking. The directors did an excellent job of incorporating the reworked classic Swedish song "Vintersaga,"with short vignettes of the Swedish people. It's easy to see the feeling of Vemod, and why the landscape and people inspire Volvo to create such incredible vehicles.

It's easy to create a fair-weathered vehicle, but Volvo creates vehicles that can face it all. Check out our new inventory, and you'll see what we mean. Just give us a call here at Volvo of Stamford at (888) 451-3563, or contact us online.
