The new Volvo XC90 takes vehicle safety and moves it to the street with City Safety system, which works in conjunction with the Forward Collision Warning and the Pedestrian and Cyclist detection systems to work as a third eye focused on movement within 500 feet of the vehicle. The system will provide alerts and even has the ability to automatically apply the brake if necessary to avoid imminent danger.
The brand has stated their goal is for no Volvo car driver or occupant to experience serious injury or death in their vehicles by the year 2020.
