The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most prestigious awards given each year, and this year, the Volvo Car Group has earned it due to its innovative new Volvo Sensus Connected Touch in-car connectivity system. Volvo of Stamford, located in Stamford, CT, can't say we're surprised, but we are excited that this incredible technology is being recognized in such an outstanding way!
The new system is designed to keep drivers entertained with their favorite music (like the world's first voice-activated Spotify streaming) and to keep them safe on the road. Available in almost all new Volvo models, the system can also be easily installed in pre-owned Volvo vehicles from 2011 and beyond that feature the Sensus infotainment system and its complementary 7-inch screen.
lain Visser, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group, promises that there is more to come as far as the new Volvo Sensus Connect system is concerned, stating, "The introduction of Sensus Connected Touch paves the way for the large, factory-fitted portrait touch screen that will be part of the infotainment package in the all-new XC90 in 2014."1
Operating the system is easy. Simply connect to 3G/4F via a car-mounted system, a WiFi system or a mobile phone, and take control via buttons on the dashboard or steering wheel or via the touchscreen. Voice-activation can also be used for music commands.
